11/8/10: Voting for the Pumpkin Carving Contest has begun, with 32 wonderful entries! The poll will stay open for two weeks, so be sure to vote and pass on the link!
In other news; an animated pencil linetest of Korra fighting two guys has been leaked. If it's legit, it's an amazing preview to the fights we can look forward to in the upcoming Avatar show! Other known info on The Legend of Korra is listed at the DH Forum.

11/4/10: There's some news today! For the Legend of Korra, Dante Bosco wrote that he recently recorded an episode and that his character was "a big surprise" to him! I wonder what character he plays? All Korra info known so far is posted on the DH Forum.
There's also news from The Track Team -- they posted on their facebook that with more signatures on the Official Petition for an Avatar Sountrack, it could very well be brought to life! Started back in 2007, the petition has over 11,720+ signatures, and it's amazing to hear that something may finally come from it. So if you haven't signed the petition yet, please do and pass the links on to your friends and family!

Finally, in site news, The Avatar Pumpkin Carving Contest has a lot of great entries! There's still time to submit a carving (or donate a fanart/craft prize) -- the deadline to enter is this Sunday night, and voting will begin on Monday! Thank you everyone who has entered so far, and hope you all have a good weekend!

10/12/10: Ahh, I'm late! But the Avatar Pumpkin Carving Contest is on again this year (we even have an entry already!), and I very much hope you'll consider entering. :) There are no prizes yet, so if anyone is in a giving mood and would like to provide a quality custom fanart or creation of some sort, please email me for more info. Thank you!

7/31/10: A roundup of the Legend of Korra info from Comic Con and news/interview sites can be found at the DH Forum. Highlights include the return of previous ATLA crew members like music composers The Track Team and voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, as well as show tidbits like romance, show mood, how the Avatar world has changed, previous characters' "legacies," and more. Go check it out! :D

7/21/10: Just before Comic Con, news of the new Avatar series has been announced! According to PRNewswire and WallStreet Journal, the new series takes place 70 years after "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and follows Korra, the Avatar after Aang. She is a Waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe and is a "passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenage girl." Korra already knows Water, Earth, and Fire, and will learn Airbending from Aangís son, Tenzin. She ends up in "Republic City," the epicenter of the Avatar world. It's a metropolis powered by steampunk technology and inhabited by people from all nations. The city has rampant crime though, and is also dealing with an anti-bender revolt. The show covers her Airbending training while dealing with these dangers. This new animated show is by Avatar co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, and is slated for 2011.

Edit: WallStreet Journal posted their interview with co-creators Mike & Bryan, which you can read here! They talk about the show, the next Avatar being a girl, Republic City, some classy side-stepping of the movie, and more. My favorite part? "We just donít subscribe to the conventional wisdom that you canít have an action series led by a female character." So much love for these guys. ♥

More detailed information may be announced this weekend at Comic Con, and if so, I'll post it as I find it. I guess I'll also have to revamp the site pages a bit to make room for the new series. It's looking exciting so far though, hurray! =D
